The General Congress of European Table Tennis Union held eve of the European Championship on October 19, 2016 in Budapest, Hungary.

This congress held participation with president of International Table Tennis Federation and European Table Tennis Union Ronald Kramer, presidents of other federations, vise-presidents and members. Also vise-presidents of Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation participated in this congress.

In the agenda of Congress the president and vise-president re-election by vote, elections the board of European Table Tennis Union, about championship in 2017 and number decisions were made, various issues were discussed.

Ronald Kramer was selected president in the next 4 years. 5 vise-presidents were selected from the members of Romania and Portuguese Federation instead of members Turkey and Russia.

The 2 representatives of Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation were selected as members for the Committees of the European Table Tennis Union. Mehdizade Sabuhi was selected as a member of the Technical Committee and Farhad Ismayiov was selected coach of Veterans Committee during 2016-2018 years.

In the framework of Congress the representatives of Federation met Tomas Weikert who is president of International Table Tennis Federation and some issues for co-operation were discussed with president of European Table Tennis Union Ronald Kramer and a number of members other Tennis Federation.

The organizing of second level test of International is intended for Azerbaijan coach in collaboration with World and European Federation .The first level of course was organized in 2015 and already 30 coaches had taken certificate of International Table Tennis Federation.
